Spot #1: Terminal 1 Observation Deck
This location can be accessed from the international terminal. Head to the first floor, past the Duty Free area and down the hallway to a lift and staircase which takes you to the viewing area. This spot is good for anything at T1 International as well as shots of both runways; recommended focal length is 18mm to 300mm. Open 24 hours.

Spot #2: Public Viewing Area
This location can be accessed at the end of Dunreath Dr. Simply follow the signs “Public Viewing Area”. This spot is best for 03 landings as well as 21 departures (heavies). Optimal time of day is after midday and recommended focal length is 50mm to 400mm. Opening hours: 0730-1730 (April-September), 0630-1900 (October-March).

Spot #3: Hyne Road Industrial Area
This location can be easily found using a GPS, simply type in “Hyne Road, South Guildford”. This spot is best for 21 arrivals during the afternoon, and recommended focal length is 100mm to 400mm

Spot #4: Terminal 1 Domestic
This location, as the heading suggests is inside the Virgin Australia terminal at Perth Airport, and security checks are required (just like a normal passenger). There are many windows in the terminal that offer great views of runway 03/21 (optimal during the morning) as well as various gates including gate 50 (international). Recommended focal length is between 20mm and 300mm.
